TOOLS & LINKS

Earth Systems provides access to In-house developed tools, Newsletters, selected open file reports and publications that may assist our clients. We also provide links to key organisations that play an important role in protecting the environment and assisting us to serve our clients.

ABATES: Acid-Base Accounting Tool

ABATES is a spreadsheet-based tool to assist with minesite water quality management.  It was developed as a response to the need for simple tools to assist our clients with acid-base accounting and water quality assessment.  ABATES is under constant development and our aim is for it to evolve it into a suite of tools for the ongoing assessment of minesite water quality.  Your feedback is welcome.

Please be aware that this spreadsheet contains macros – so, if prompted, you will have to allow macros to be enabled on your version of excel for it to operate.

GaRDS.doc (88Kb) summarises a new technique under development by Earth Systems and ANSTO for preventing sulphide oxidation in underground mines by displacing the air with a reducing gas mixture. The full reference for this document is:

Turbidity.doc (543Kb) examines the performance of a low-cost, portable Neutra-Mill Water Treatment System (the turbidity mill) during treatment of small town drinking water supplies. A single portable Turbidity Mill was effective at reducing the suspended solids in drinking water at several towns. The full reference for this document is:
