Representative Experience
Mr. Murphy's recent roles and projects include:

  • Specialist consultant and Project Director for Earth Systems Lao in the preparation of the Sepon Environmental and Social Impact Assessment in Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR.
  • Project director for the development of the Environment Map of Australia and the World Environment Map.
  • Specialist assistance in the preparation of the Environmental Management Overview Strategy (EMOS) and review of the Draft EIS for the proposed major zinc mining development, Century Zinc in north-west Queensland, Australia
  • Key external consultant in the development, review and revision of environmental guidelines and codes of practice for a number of resource sector clients.
  • Project Director for a United Nations GEF facility funded project preparing environmental datasets for eastern China, eastern Mongolia and Siberia as part of the TumenNET Strategic Action Program.
  • Environmental assessments and baseline studies for a number of mining and mineral exploration projects in the Asia-Pacific region, including PNG, Laos, Indonesia, Argentina.
  • Benchmarking study and environmental data review of all managed sites for an international mining group.
