Summary
Ms. Melissa Supangat joined Earth Systems as an Environmental Engineer in 2008. Melissa graduated with a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering and recently completed her Master of Engineering Management. Melissa has experience in conducting GHG and energy audits aligned to ISO 14064-1 and AS/NZS 3598 in various industry sectors. Melissa also has experience and knowledge in sustainable supply chain management as well as financial analysis of complex projects.

Representative Experience
Ms. Supangat’s recent roles and projects include:
- Assisted in a calculation methodology for an Australian corporation in determining the emissions from their mine and process plant operations.
- Identified energy efficiency measures for the sugar industry and preparation of CDM proposals for sugar mills in Southern Africa.
- Assisted in coal gasification trials in producing suitable product gas for useful applications (including feasibility study and equipment assembly)
- Assisted in the feasibility study of converting waste wood (damaged timber from Victorian bushfires) to energy through a poly-generation system.
- Conducted or assisted full scope GHG Audits (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) in accordance to WBCSD GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1 for 15 Australian and New Zealand businesses.
- Conducted or assisted site energy audits and prepared energy audit reports (to AS/NZS 3598), including proposed energy saving measures and their respective financial saving estimates, for 4 sites.
- Provided specialist consulting on carbon capture from power station stack gas via algal biodiesel processing for a commercial client.
- Modeled the emissions associated with the revegetation phase of a sustainable housing development project in Victoria.
- Conducted a feasibility study on the production of biodiesel from canola oil along with the environmental, social and economic impacts.
- Conducted a study on sustainable supply chain management which involved designing a “green” supply chain from raw materials manufacturers up to end consumers and back to the manufacturers.
- Conducted financial analyses on CDM projects (hydropower and biomass projects) and determining their eligibility as CDM projects.
