Summary
Azain Raban is senior environmental consultant and also the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Carbon Trading Manager at Earth Systems. He has over 5 year’s international experience in climate change policy and (CDM). Azain has a background in natural sciences, climatology and environmental policy. He also holds a Masters degree in Environment from the University of Melbourne.

Azain has spent over two years developing the CDM Portfolio within Earth Systems and has initiated projects in Laos, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Fiji. His areas of expertise include CDM project identification, assessment, Project Design Document (PDD) development and facilitating the sale of carbon credits. He also coordinates with local project developers and international buyers to ensure effective project implementation. Azain has so far assisted in the sale of over 1.2 million forward carbon credits of which 650,000 will be delivered by 2012.

  • Developing and managing the CDM Development and Carbon Trading Division at Earth System.
  • Preparing a climate change / carbon credit strategy papers and identifying CDM projects in Lao PDR, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Fiji.
  • Developing a Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) Marketing Strategy for Earth Systems Australia.
