Earth Systems has provided water resource management and water treatment advice to various water authorities and industry sectors, including coal mines in Australia, Indonesia and South Africa.



Recent projects completed by Earth Systems include:
• Development of acid drainage management strategies and provision of advice on appropriate water treatment facilities at open cut and port facilities at a number of coal operations in South Kalimantan, Indonesia.
• Evaluation of the thermodynamic and logistic feasibility of utilising landfill gas to assist in the management of leachate by facilitating evaporative loss at a putrescible landfill in Sunbury, Victoria.
• Advice and assistance in the development of strategies to manage acid and copper affected drainage from a large Cu-Au mine in Indonesia.
• Development and implementation of a low-cost methodology for the treatment of small drinking water storage ponds to lower turbidity and improve colour for the Goulburn Valley and Grampians Water Authorities.
• Development of treatment methodologies for a water body affected by high concentrations of cyanide at a gold mines in the Northern Territory and Queensland.
• Program design, monitoring and treatment of acid drainage with elevated metal concentrations to a standard suitable for discharge at the Savage River Mine, Tasmania.
