Transporting recyclables in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, Peoples Republic of China. Earth Systems was commissioned by the City of Zhongshan to develop a solid waste management strategy for the City.

Recent projects completed by Earth Systems include:
• In association with CMPS&F Pty Ltd, development of a waste management strategy for Gannawarra Shire Council in north western Victoria.
• Preparation of an Environmental Management Plan for a proposed private secure landfill near Melbourne, Victoria.
• Siting and design of a facility for the treatment, storage and disposal of hazardous wastes produced in Hyderabad, a major industrial centre in southern India. This is an important component of a project being undertaken by Kinhill Engineers Pty Ltd and the Overseas Projects Corporation of Victoria Ltd for AusAID and the World Bank.
• Specialist advice to Kinhill Pty Ltd and Gutteridge Haskins & Davey Pty Ltd in the development of a solid waste master plan as part of the AusAID Da Nang Water Supply and Sanitation Project in Vietnam.
• Development of a solid waste management strategy for the City of Zhongshan, Guangdong Province in the People's Republic of China. The study included a review of present solid waste management practices, identification of any hazards or risks associated with these practices and the identification of cost-effective strategies for improving solid waste management within Zhongshan.
